Have you received error code P0325 for your vehicle? Error code P0325 means that your vehicle is experiencing a knock sensor circuit malfunction. Keep reading as we explore a few common reasons drivers receive this particular code.

1. Faulty Knock Sensor

Your vehicle's knock sensor may be damaged, corroded, or stressed, typically caused by extreme heat. Other causes of a faulty knock sensor include incorrect installation or bad wiring.

2. Wiring Issues

As stated above, having poor wiring can cause a P0325 error code. The wires in your vehicle may be damaged or corroded, which can disrupt the signal between the knock sensor and the ECU. Wiring issues can be caused by a variety of things, including moisture, rodents, or excessive vibration.

3. Engine Running Lean

An engine that runs lean has more air than fuel, which can lead to a knock sensor circuit malfunction. It's important to note that this type of issue can also cause engine failure if not addressed. A couple of reasons engines run lean include problems with the engine cooling system and the PCM.

4. Cooling System Issues

Another cause of a knock sensor circuit malfunction is cooling system issues, such as overheating. With that said, if you find that the knock sensor and surrounding system is fine, then it's possible that the coolant temperature readings might be higher than what's recommended.
